The Scientific Outreach Secretariat at the University of Seville is organising a round-table discussion aimed at the general public on the challenges posed by the increasingly intensive use of space. The event will bring together four perspectives: aerospace engineering and space surveillance, addressing the tracking of objects in orbit, the risk of collisions and growing orbital congestion; Earth observation and remote sensing, to explain why we need satellites and what knowledge and services they provide; a business perspective and that of the New Space sector, focusing on technological development and the growing involvement of private companies; and a perspective on space governance and policy.
