Founded in 1998 as a non-profit association, the Community of Ariane Cities (CVA) brings together European cities, aerospace companies and space agencies involved in the development of the sector in Europe.

The CVA aims to develop cooperation, dissemination, promotion of activities and training of future professionals in the sector.

Seville will hold the presidency of the Community of Ariane Cities in 2024.

Its Mission

  • To promote the reality of space transport among European citizens.
  • To promote knowledge of the aerospace industry in Europe and its role in CVA member cities.
  • To highlight the social and economic impact of European launcher programmes as drivers of technological progress.
  • To enhance Europe’s status as a player in the development of space strategies and programmes.
  • Facilitate long-term cooperation between Ariane cities, companies, space agencies, research institutes and educational institutions.
  • Provide programmes covering the technical, cultural and educational aspects of the sector.
  • Promote the European Spaceport in French Guiana (CSG) and its strategic role for Europe.
