The Seville Star Trek Club and the Astromares Association are organizing the science outreach event \u201cStarships: From Fiction to Reality,\u201d a gathering designed to bring the public closer to the major challenges and advances in space exploration from a scientific perspective, while also drawing inspiration from the imagination that has fueled science fiction for decades.<\/p>\n
The event will feature Gabriel Iglesias Fern\u00e1ndez, an aeronautical engineer, and Miguel Antonio Cort\u00e9s Giraldo, an atomic physicist and professor at the University of Seville, who will deliver a dynamic and interactive talk on some of the topics currently generating the greatest interest in the field of space exploration.<\/p>\n
During the session, attendees will explore subjects such as the current state of the space race, the real possibilities behind futuristic technologies like the warp drive popularized by Star Trek, and the enormous technical, physical, and human challenges that humanity would face in a future crewed mission to Mars.<\/p>\n
