Companies from Seville have played a standout role in the historic Artemis II mission. In this landmark return of humans to the Moon, the European Space Agency (ESA) has collaborated with NASA on the project with critical contributions, including that of the Seville-based company GMV.<\/p>\n

GMV: Operations and Monitoring from Earth<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Miguel \u00c1ngel Molina, Deputy General Director of Special Systems at GMV, represents the third pillar of Spain\u2019s participation. His company has focused on mission operations and ground control, developing key tools for mission tracking.<\/p>\n

\u201cGMV has developed some of the tools being used to monitor the mission from Earth. In particular, an anomaly tracking tool which, in case any issue is detected, records the anomaly, manages it, and includes predefined response protocols,\u201d Molina explained.<\/p>\n

GMV has leveraged its previous experience with the Columbus module, the laboratory of the International Space Station (ISS) where experiments are conducted: \u201cWe are responsible for maintaining operations, controlling that module, and managing the activities within it,\u201d Molina added.<\/p>\n

In addition, the company has taken part in astronaut training in Houston, developing the \u201cEverywhere\u201d system\u2014an ESA tool that monitors astronauts\u2019 health through sensors that track vital signs, nutrition conditions, and physical status.<\/p>\n
