The Government Council of Andalusia has been informed about the launch of activities by the Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation to establish the \u201cESA-BIC Andaluc\u00eda\u201d business incubator. This project is a joint initiative between the Andalusian Government and the European Space Agency (ESA), each contributing \u20ac504,000 for its development. Based in Seville and managed by the Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies (Catec), the incubator will start offering training and mentoring in March to six innovative business projects in the space sector, selected in its first call.<\/p>\n
The initiative has the support of the Seville City Council, which has provided the location at the Naves de Renfe, as well as backing from the Spanish Space Agency (AEE) as part of the national space policy. Its aim is to turn ideas into successful businesses through incentives and guidance for startups, while promoting technology and knowledge transfer between the space sector and other industries.<\/p>\n
The program seeks not only to retain existing talent in Andalusia but also to attract new talent, positioning the region as a hub for space innovation and entrepreneurship. Initially, the incubator will provide technical support and mentorship to six startups in various fields, helping them transform their ideas into commercially viable products. In a second phase, another six startups will be supported, with the goal of assisting a total of twelve startups over five years.<\/p>\n
The selected startups will receive financial support and resources totaling \u20ac360,000 in the first call, aimed at technological development and intellectual property protection. Starting in March 2026, the incubator will offer advanced business services, including business coaching, legal consulting, and specialized technical support, as well as facilitating access to financing channels and investor networks.<\/p>\n
