SUMMARY:INTRODUCTION COURSE TO PRACTICAL ASTRONOMY AND ECLIPSES. 1st EDITION – 2026
DESCRIPTION:INTRODUCTION COURSE TO PRACTICAL ASTRONOMY AND ECLIPSES. 1st EDITION – 2026\nAstronomical observation stands out as one of the most important activities within scientific and nature tourism\, and Andalusia is a leading force in this field in Europe. This makes these topics especially attractive for the business community involved in astrotourism in its various formats. This relevance becomes even greater in light of the series of three solar eclipses occurring in 2026\, 2027\, and 2028. \nThe training provides both theoretical and practical foundations for naked-eye sky observation. It places special emphasis on solar observation and solar eclipses\, with an eye on the upcoming trio of solar eclipses in 2026\, 2027\, and 2028\, two of which will have Andalusia as a privileged observation area. \nIt includes a practical observation session carried out in collaboration with different astronomical associations belonging to the Red Andaluza de Astronomía (RADA). \nPROGRAM\nIn this first edition of the introductory level\, the content is divided into nine sessions: \n\nBasic outdoor orientation and first steps among the stars. (May 12\, 2026 / 17:00–18:30)\nThe Moon with the naked eye and its phases. (May 14\, 2026 / 17:00–18:30)\nThe starry sky with the naked eye. (May 19\, 2026 / 17:00–18:30)\nEarth’s rotation and revolution: daily and annual cycles of the sky. (May 21\, 2026 / 17:00–18:30)\nLight pollution. (May 26\, 2026 / 17:00–18:30)\nThe Solar System with the naked eye: the Sun and planets without optical aid. (May 28\, 2026 / 17:00–18:30)\nSolar and lunar eclipses: how they work and how to observe them safely. (June 2\, 2026 / 17:00–18:30)\nPreparation session led by David Galadí. (June 9\, 2026 / 17:00–18:30)\nPractical observation session at various locations across Andalusia in collaboration with amateur astronomy associations. (Date to be determined)\n\nThe practical observation session will take place at several points across Andalusia in collaboration with astronomical associations belonging to the Red Andaluza de Astronomía (RADA). Participants will be given meeting points in different locations so they can choose the one most convenient for them. \nSchedule\nOnline sessions will take place from 17:00 to 18:30 on the following dates: May 12\, 14\, 19\, 21\, 26\, and 28; June 2 and 9.

SUMMARY:“Starships: From Fiction to Reality” – An Event in Seville Exploring the Future of Space Exploration
DESCRIPTION:The Seville Star Trek Club and the Astromares Association are organizing the science outreach event “Starships: From Fiction to Reality\,” a gathering designed to bring the public closer to the major challenges and advances in space exploration from a scientific perspective\, while also drawing inspiration from the imagination that has fueled science fiction for decades. \nThe event will feature Gabriel Iglesias Fernández\, an aeronautical engineer\, and Miguel Antonio Cortés Giraldo\, an atomic physicist and professor at the University of Seville\, who will deliver a dynamic and interactive talk on some of the topics currently generating the greatest interest in the field of space exploration. \nDuring the session\, attendees will explore subjects such as the current state of the space race\, the real possibilities behind futuristic technologies like the warp drive popularized by Star Trek\, and the enormous technical\, physical\, and human challenges that humanity would face in a future crewed mission to Mars. \nRather than being a strictly academic lecture\, the event is intended for all audiences\, including both science fiction enthusiasts and people interested in science\, technology\, and the future of space exploration. The format will also encourage direct interaction with the speakers\, allowing attendees to ask questions\, share reflections\, and actively participate in the discussion. \nThrough this initiative\, the Seville Star Trek Club and Astromares aim to foster scientific curiosity and demonstrate how many ideas born in fiction have inspired some of the most important technological advances of our time. \nSchedule \nThe event is free of charge and will take place on June 20 at 11:30 a.m. at the Casa de la Ciencia in Seville. Admission is free until full capacity is reached. \nContact\nRubén: +34 633 225 884\nclubstartreksevilla@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Dark Biosphere
DESCRIPTION:Where does life begin? Are we alone in the universe? Science advances and questions find their answers\, but at the frontiers of knowledge lies one of the most astonishing phenomena in science: life. Even in the depths of the Earth’s crust—without light\, air\, or water—microorganisms survive and develop under extreme conditions. This leads us to reflect not only on the origin and evolution of life on Earth\, but also on its possible existence throughout the universe. \nThis screening explores the most extreme forms of life on our planet in order to answer one question: Does life extend beyond Earth? \nRecommended activity for families with children aged 11 to 18. \nDuration: 45 minutes \nSchedule – Every Friday and Sunday until July 19\, 2026. \nUpcoming dates: \n\n\nFriday\, December 5\, at 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. \n\n\nSunday\, December 7\, at 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. \n\n\nFriday\, December 12\, at 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. \n\n\nSunday\, December 14\, at 6:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
