The Spanish Space Agency (AEE) is holding a conference entitled ‘High Abilities and Space Exploration: Talent as a Driver for the Future’. Organised in collaboration with the international association GeniusGifted, the event will take place at the AEE headquarters in Seville on Friday 10 October 2025, coinciding with World Space Week.

The conference aims to facilitate fundamental dialogue on identifying, nurturing and promoting the extraordinary talent that will drive future advances in space exploration. It seeks to connect industry experts, educators, and above all, the promising young individuals who will spearhead the next era of discoveries.

The opening ceremony, scheduled for 10:15 a.m., will be led by the Director of the Spanish Space Agency, Juan Carlos Cortés, and the President of GeniusGifted, María Castro.

The programme will continue with the inaugural conference, ‘Europe in Orbit: Science and the Future from Spain to the Universe’, presented by Dr Marco Vélez, an astrophysicist and the Director of Scientific, Technological and Space Outreach at GeniusGifted.

At 12:00 p.m., there will be a roundtable discussion entitled ‘From the Classroom to Space: Opportunities for Extraordinary Talent: Are We Ready to Promote It?’ This will be moderated by Pedro Luis Robles, Vice President of GeniusGifted, and will feature a panel of top-level experts.

• Isabel Vera, Director of Space and Society at the Spanish Space Agency.

• Sergio Esteban, Professor and Deputy Director of the ETSI at the University of Seville.

• Rosalía Feria, Guidance Counsellor at the Salesianos de San Pedro School.

• Juan José Gutiérrez, Researcher and Professor at Pablo de Olavide University.

• Teresa Fernández, Psychologist and Director of the CADIS centre.

One of the most special moments of the day will be the block of mini presentations by children entitled ‘The Universe I Want’, where gifted boys and girls will share their vision and innovative proposals for the future of space exploration, giving a voice to the generations who will lead the next missions.
